CoolEarth is the official Mongol Rally charity and aims to stop deforestation by supporting communities living in the rainforests and putting an end to excessive deforestation. x The Macular Society was chosen as my grandmother suffered dreadfully from Macular Degeneration in the last years of her life. She always said that she would die of heart failure but was robbed of dignity and any quality of life by becoming blind [with only 10% peripheral vision]. She was fiercely independent and lived alone until the very end even though she had problems with the very mundane tasks we all carry out without thinking twice such as making a cup of tea, making sure the clothes she was wearing were not inside out or even opening a door. She could no longer read or watch television. Her dying wish was that research be carried out to help others. In collecting money for this charity we will be honouring her wishes. Exciting research is currently underway in stem cells and great strides have been made in technological advancements. For the Mongol Rally, we needed to choose two charities. Our are  The Macular Society  and  CoolEarth.   Please give generously. All funds will be given to the charities immediately after the rally on a 50/50 basis unless you give us a special request and tell us how you would like the money to be distributed Don't hesitate to contact us for any questions or more information!
